Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer Location: Consett Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 per annum (dependant on experience) Hours of work: Days- (Monday - Thursday) 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 1pm Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer looking to join one of the largest independent global manufacturers in the UK. Specialising in a wide range of aerospace production capabilities. Located in Consett, dedicated to precision manufacturing, treatments, NDT, and repairs of metallic aerospace parts and finished components. We are seeking a senior manufacturing engineer who will deliver excellent asset optimisation for manufacturing processes within your area, a key member of the team you will ensure combined integration of manufacture engineering, Health, Safety and Quality standards. Key Responsibilities for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer: * Develop and support best practices including FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) studies, value stream mapping, SPC (Statistical Process Control) and SOP Standard Operating Procedures. * Improve processes to reduce non value added activity while ensuring safety and product quality. * Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality * Streamline workflows to minimise waste and enhance process efficiency. * Production Analysis: Assess machining, workbench, and paint processes to drive improvements. * Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise metrics and data analysis to identify inefficiencies and propose effective solutions. * Present opportunities for improvement backed with data and industry research to management * Support the development of the lean culture * Work on multiple Manufacturing Engineering Projects to improve Quality, Cost and Delivery * Work with new and existing vendors to reduce cost on tooling. * Effectively work with suppliers of engineering services at site. * In conjunction with the Section Leaders ensure engineering standards are maintained and all activities are conducted in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. * Experience of working in a lean operating environment, and as part of a high performance team * Lean Six Sigma (LSS) certification to Green Belt standard would be advantageous – having already worked in an organization focused on continuous improvement and implementing best practices. * Must be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications * To liaise with other departments requiring advice and guidance on engineering subjects * Having a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving * To support other members of the Engineer Team in their development as required * To attend meetings with the cross functional team to represent the Engineering Team Requirements for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer: * Minimum 5 years Manufacturing / Process Engineering Experience * Bachelor's degree or HNC and equivalent experience in a similar role for a minimum of 5 years * Experience in the Aerospace industry and understanding of AS 9100 standards would be advantageous * NEBOSH certified preferred How to apply for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer: If you are proactive, quality-driven, and ready to take the next step in your career, apply now or submit your most up-to-date CV to n . lawry @ amlr. uk or to discuss how we can find you your next move within your chosen sector with one of the many career opportunities we currently have, Tel: (phone number removed) and ask for Naomi Please note: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be able to commute to Consett
