About the Role As a CNC Miller at Pailton Engineering, you’ll be responsible for the precise manufacture of steering components used across automotive, defence, and heavy-duty industries. Based at our Coventry HQ, you'll operate on a rotating shift system (mornings and afternoons) and be entrusted with setting, operating, and maintaining CNC vertical and horizontal milling centres. This role suits someone with high attention to detail, experience reading engineering drawings, and the confidence to modify programmes, check parts to tight tolerances, and contribute to lean manufacturing goals. Benefits 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays Company pension (3% employer contribution) Medicash healthcare plan Death in service benefit (2x salary) Overtime at 1.5x standard rate Stable and supportive engineering environment Modern facility with high-spec equipment and lean focus Key Responsibilities Set, operate and maintain CNC milling machines (vertical/horizontal) Interpret engineering drawings, route cards and quality standards Load and adjust tooling and set offsets accurately Carry out in-process checks using micrometres, verniers, gauges, etc. Support 6S, TPM and lean initiatives on the shop floor Collaborate with other operators and team leaders to improve workflow Maintain accurate documentation of processes and part checks What We're Looking For Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment Confidence reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings Ability to work with minimal supervision on complex components A methodical approach to quality, safety and continuous improvement Knowledge of Fanuc or Siemens controls (desirable) Hours, Location & Pay Location: Phoenix House, Holbrook Lane, Coventry, CV6 4AD Hours: Rotating shifts Mornings: 06:00–14:15 (Mon–Thu), 06:00–12:00 (Fri) Afternoons: 14:45–23:00 (Mon–Thu), 12:30–18:30 (Fri) Pay: £15.24 per hour + 10% shift allowance (for afternoons) Overtime: Paid at 1.5x on weekdays and weekends Sound like your next role?
