Job Title: Childcare and Employability Tutor Location: Ipswich Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm (37.5 hours). Full-time or term-time options. Contract: Maternity cover, with potential to become permanent Salary: £25,000––£30,000 As the Skills for Life Tutor, you will plan, teach, and monitor learner progress, helping those with learning differences to develop confidence, independence, and employability. You will design a curriculum that supports successful achievement and progression, using creative methods to engage learners who may present challenges. What We’re Looking For Essential: * PTLLS/AET or equivalent * GCSE English and maths (C/4 or above) * Level 2 Childcare qualification * Experience in employability delivery * Experience supporting learners with learning differences * Confident delivery skills Desirable: * Assessor qualification * Knowledge of EHCPs * SEN qualifications You will plan and deliver high-quality teaching in Childcare and Employability, differentiate lessons to meet learners’ needs, maintain accurate records, and ensure learners remain on track to achieve. You will support learners in building practical skills through lessons, enrichment, and trips that promote confidence and progression. Key Responsibilities Teaching, Learning & Assessment * Plan and deliver Level 1 Childcare and Employability lessons * Develop engaging schemes of work and differentiated resources * Use initial assessment, previous learning, and EHCPs to meet individual needs * Track learner progress and maintain accurate records * Provide 1:1 reviews, pastoral support, and behaviour management * Support inclusion and equal opportunities * Organise trips, enrichment activities, and cross-centre collaboration * Participate in team meetings, open days, and quality reviews Monitoring & Continuous Improvement * Complete ongoing CPD and relevant qualifications * Embed Safeguarding and Prevent within delivery * Reflect on and improve your practice to enhance learner outcomes Confidentiality & Safeguarding The post holder must maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to GDPR.
