Electrical Design Engineer

We are offering you the opportunity to work for a major engineering company that specialise in the design and development of premium range, tracked and wheeled machines as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. * This EDS Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer role involves generating new vehicle harness routings and designs to support the development of new machine products. * You will be creating and implementing new and fresh ideas for vehicle harness architecture from concept to production including design, development, test, validation and design release. * To be successful in this position engineers will need to come with a broad range of 3D harness and electrical design skills including a good understanding of schematic design, harness CAD packages, Design for manufacture and prototype build. Other skills: Electrical Design Engineer * Degree level or equivalent in electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering or similar * Experience of 3D harness routing would be required * Usage of industry standard electrical and mechanical CAD packages – Zuken E3, NX. Catia, Solidworks, AutoCAD Electrical. * Experience working with low voltage 12/24V DC vehicle systems * Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for the design/development of Electrical subsystems – from concept through test, to manufacture * Good EDS / electrical design skills within off-highway, mobile machinery, rolling stock, aerospace or marine etc * Appreciation of engineering calculations for electrical load balancing and wire sizing * Good communication skills both written and verbal to offer positive contributions in design meetings, to clients and across the business groups Our client offers a competitive salary, pension scheme, private health and opportunities for personal development and career progression.
