Quantity Surveyor – Fit Out / Refurbishment Location: Office-based in Northampton with nationwide travel (once a week on average) Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Laptop & Phone + Pension + Travel Expenses Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays The company Our client is a leading specialist in high-end interior fit-outs and bespoke joinery, delivering exceptional projects across the UK and Europe since 2009. They operate across multiple sectors, including: * Commercial Interiors * Retail Interiors * Restaurants & Hospitality * Exhibitions * In-house Joinery Manufacturing About the Role We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Principal Contractor delivering high-specification fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK. Projects range from £1m–£4m, with occasional schemes up to £16m, across sectors including stadiums, museums, high-end retail, hospitality, and commercial interiors. You’ll take ownership of schemes from pre-construction through to handover, managing multiple fast-paced projects with short timelines (typically 4–12 weeks). Key Responsibilities * Full commercial management of projects from inception to completion * Looking after valuations, variations, applications for payment, final accounts * Assist with procurement of specialist interior packages and ensure compliance with specifications. * Negotiate and manage subcontractor accounts. * Measure and value works on-site * Run multiple schemes simultaneously (typically 3). * Manage 4–14 subcontractors per scheme and 8–18 packages per project. * Attend site visits weekly (or more as required). What We’re Looking For * Experience in fit-out/refurbishment, ideally commercial contracting. * Will consider a strong Assistant QS or Intermediate QS ready to step up. * Housing refurbishment experience considered. * Ability to work under pressure and manage short timelines. * Strong financial and contractual knowledge.
