About the Role We are recruiting an Aerostructure Cost Engineer to join a world-leading aerospace organisation, supporting cost modelling and design-to-cost activities across major aircraft programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of engineering, manufacturing, and commercial decision-making — helping shape cost-effective, next-generation aerostructures. You will join a highly respected Cost Engineering team, providing neutral, data-driven costing insight to influence design, manufacturing solutions, and supplier negotiations across composite and metallic structures. Key Responsibilities • Develop recurring (RC) and non-recurring (NRC) cost estimates for aerostructure components, primarily in composites. • Use digital costing tools, models and structured methods to provide accurate, consistent cost analysis. • Support Design-to-Cost (DtC) activities from early concept through to industrialisation and entry into service. • Analyse detailed work package estimates, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present recommendations to engineering and programme teams. • Provide manufacturing cost insight for multiple aircraft programmes. • Support and challenge suppliers during cost reviews and negotiations. • Ensure costing outputs are neutral, traceable, and aligned to best-practice processes. Skills & Experience Required Essential • Strong background in engineering or manufacturing (preferably aerospace). • Solid understanding of composite, metallic, machining, fabrication, or assembly processes. • Ability to interpret engineering data, drawings, and manufacturing flows. • Experience in design-for-manufacture, industrialisation, cost reduction or similar. • Analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex processes into cost drivers. • Clear communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable • Experience supporting Design-to-Cost initiatives. • Exposure to cost modelling tools or costing methods. • Supplier-facing engineering experience. • Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience. Why Apply? • Work on high-profile aircraft programmes with significant technical impact. • Long-term contract with extension potential. • Join a collaborative team at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing technology and cost engineering. • Develop deep expertise in composite and metallic aerostructure costing. How to Apply If you have a strong manufacturing/engineering background and want a role combining engineering insight with strategic cost analysis, we’d love to hear from you
