Freelance Quantity Surveyor

Boyd Recruitment are currently working with a leading utilities contractor who are looking to add a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to support a well-established contractor delivering key infrastructure works across the region. 🔧 Role Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day commercial and cost activities on live utility projects Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and accurate cost reports Support procurement, subcontract management, and contract administration Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and commercial risk management Work closely with internal project teams and external stakeholders 👤 Candidate Requirements: Previous experience as a QS within utilities, civil engineering, or infrastructure HNC/HDN/Hons in Quantity Surveying Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts Ability to work autonomously in a freelance capacity Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Available for an immediate or prompt start 💼 What’s on Offer: Competitive day rate of £450–£500 Ongoing contract potential with a respected contractor If you are interested in this position, please apply today or contact Boyd Recruitment for a confidential discussion
