Machine Shop Technician / Toolmaker - Evening & Night Shift Letterkenny | Full-Time | Permanent Are you a skilled Machine Shop Technician / Toolmaker looking for a secure, long-term role with excellent rates and shift premiums? Our client is a global leader in material science and the production of high-performance polymer tubing for medical devices, aerospace, automotive and energy industries, with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Letterkenny. The Role Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, you will provide technical support across shifts to optimise equipment performance and maintain tooling, ensuring high-quality, precision polymer extrusion. This role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem solving and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. Key Requirements Applicants must meet the following essential criteria: * Time served / qualified engineering technician * High-level experience using lathes, mills and general workshop equipment * Experience maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting mechanical equipment in a production environment * Computer literate * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * Proven experience working to very high tolerances (e.g. one ten-thousandth of an inch) * Previous polymer extrusion and SolidWorks experience is beneficial but not essential Pay & Benefits * Hourly rate: €26.16 per hour * Night shift allowance: +25% * Evening shift allowance: +18% * During probation (6 months): 90% of base rate * Additional benefits include: * Competitive overall pay and benefits package * Permanent, full-time employment * Health insurance contributions and wellness programmes * Pension, life assurance and tuition assistance Shift Patterns * Night shift: Sunday 23:45 to Friday 08:15 * Evening shift: Monday to Friday, 15:45 - 00:15 Other Requirements * Fluency in English is required for this role
