Service Manager – HVAC (Commercial) An established and highly regarded HVAC contractor is seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee service and maintenance operations across a defined regional patch. The business operates nationally, supporting a strong commercial client base including restaurants, hotels, leisure facilities, alongside contracts within healthcare, education and industrial environments. With regional offices across the UK and a workforce of over 130 employees, the company delivers installation, planned maintenance, reactive service and repair across a wide range of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, chillers, AHUs, ventilation and commercial heating plant. Annual turnover exceeds £20m. The business operates under an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT) model, meaning employees collectively benefit from the company’s success and have a genuine voice in how the business is run. The Role – Service Manager The Service Manager will take full ownership of service delivery and maintenance contracts within their region, with responsibility for a P&L of approximately £1.3m. Key responsibilities include: * Managing and developing a team of mobile HVAC engineers to ensure high service standards, productivity and compliance * Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance contracts, ensuring SLA and client expectations are consistently met * Acting as the senior point of contact for key clients, building strong relationships and supporting contract renewals and additional works * Monitoring financial performance, including revenue, margins, costs and budgets * Driving continuous improvement across service delivery, engineer performance and customer satisfaction * Supporting growth through remedial works, variations and service-led opportunities This is a hands-on management role requiring both commercial awareness and strong technical credibility. Candidate Requirements * Proven experience in a Service Manager (or equivalent service-focused leadership) role within HVAC or building services * Strong technical background in HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, wet systems and plant rooms * Confident engaging in technical and commercial discussions with clients regarding service schedules, compliance and remedial works * Demonstrable experience managing engineers, workloads and performance * Solid understanding of service contracts, customer service and client retention * Commercially astute with experience managing budgets, costs and P&L * Motivated, stable and committed, with a desire to grow responsibility over time Salary & Benefits * Basic salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (dependent on experience) * Car allowance: circa £5,000 per annum * Annual bonus linked to profitability, service performance, compliance and engineer development * Employee-Owned Trust profit share, increasing with length of service * Pension scheme * Further benefits to be discussed at interview stage
