Freelance Health & Safety Advisor – Civil Engineering & Energy Projects Location: Scotland (site-based with travel to various projects) Start: Immediate Engagement: Freelance (CIS available) — potential to become permanent We are recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor who are seeking an experienced Freelance Health & Safety Advisor to support a portfolio of major civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects across Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for an established H&S professional who enjoys being out on site, engaging with project teams, and helping maintain the highest levels of safety culture. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular site inspections and audits across multiple live projects Provide advice, coaching and guidance to site and project teams Assist with risk assessments, method statements and site documentation Support incident reporting and investigation where required Promote and drive a positive health & safety culture across all activities About You IOSH membership is essential (GradIOSH/CMIOSH desirable) Previous experience within civil engineering, utilities, or energy infrastructure Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and support site teams Comfortable working across multiple locations Full UK driving licence Contract Details Freelance engagement — CIS payment available Competitive day rate depending on experience Immediate start available Genuine opportunity for the role to transition to a permanent staff position for the right person If you’re a proactive Health & Safety professional looking for your next assignment and enjoy working on meaningful infrastructure projects, we’d love to hear from you.
