CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist (Miller) We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Miller) to join our team working to EN9100 standards in the aerospace and defence sectors. * Location: Brentwood Essex * Salary: £17 - £22 per hour (depending on experience) * Full time / Permanent * Day shift: 39 hours per week * Monday to Thursday 8am – 4.30pm / Friday 8am -3.30pm Benefits: * Competitive pay * Overtime available @ 1.5 x hourly rate * Flexible Fridays – once 39 hrs have been worked * Pension scheme * 20-24 days Holidays + Bank holidays * Bright HR app with 100’s of deals and discounts * Free onsite parking * C2C train station nearby Key role and accountabilities: To set and operate CNC milling machines. * Produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency * Competently set and operate Mazak CNC horizontal and vertical machining centres * Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standards * To work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing processes * Quality check your finished components * Clean and maintain CNC machine and all associated equipment and machine area. * Working to EN9100 standards Core skills/attributes needed: * Fully skilled/experienced/time served CNC setter/operator * Experience on horizontal and/or vertical milling machines * Programming experience would be an advantage but not essential * Ability to interpret engineering drawings * Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment (Micrometers/calipers/gauges) * Be able to concentrate and produce quality finished components * Ability to pay attention to detail * Able to apply good practical skills and to follow written instructions * Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team * Able to work safely and follow all health and safety protocols
