Outreach Tutor


Outreach Tutor (Newcastle) ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY As an Outreach Tutor, you will plan, create, and deliver highly personalised lessons designed to build confidence, engagement, and academic progress. You will play a key role in reintroducing structure into the students day, while also supporting both academic development and life skills. A strong commitment to inclusive education is essential, and experience with communication systems such as Makaton and PECS would be highly beneficial. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS - Location Within the community or students homes in Newcastle - Position: Outreach Tutor (Complex Needs) - Type of work: Part-time, approximately 15-25 hours per week - Minimum pay rate: GBP25 per hour - Hours: Sessions typically 1 to 3 hours long EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS - QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent qualifications - Minimum 6 months experience working in a UK school or with SEN learners - Experience with Makaton and/or PECS (highly desirable) - Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable but not essential) TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: - Hold the right to work in the UK - Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application - Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years PROSPERO TEACHING CAN OFFER: - Accredited CPD courses, including safeguarding and behaviour management - Access to our in-house Training and Development Team If you are passionate about inclusive education and have experience working with young people with complex needs, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference.
