Purpose: Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the Trade Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that a company's import and export activities comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Key Responsibilities Trade Compliance Programme & Governance - Maintain the ACS UK trade compliance programme to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant trade laws and regulations. - Review, update, and maintain internal trade compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and company standards. - Monitor changes in UK and international trade regulations and ensure timely updates to the compliance programme. - Identify, assess, and report potential trade compliance risks to senior management. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, IT, Legal, Finance) to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. - Communicate with government agencies and international customs authorities to support compliance and regulatory enquiries. Sales Order & Export Control Activities - Daily triage of sales order lines placed on hold due to trade compliance issues. - Maintain and update trackers for order lines requiring further trade compliance research. - Research missing trade data and update parts and order lines accordingly. - Release order lines once compliance checks are completed and approvals obtained. - Scrutinise, sign off, and progress the release of sales orders under UK Export Control, including Consignee Undertakings. Trade Data Management - Update Evolution systems daily with accurate trade data. - Ensure trade classification, export control status, and related data are complete and correct. - Support data accuracy for audits, reporting, and regulatory submissions. Sanctions & Screening (Navex) - Create and upload screening files into Navex on an ad hoc basis. - Maintain and update Navex trackers to support compliance activities. - Review Navex screening reports and sign off account creation files. - Review Navex updates and take appropriate follow-up actions where required. Supplier & Third-Party Compliance - Scrutinise, sign off, and archive End User Statements received from suppliers. - Approve supplier access to whitelists via the Supplier Portal. - Ensure supplier compliance with applicable export control and trade regulations. Intangible Exports & Reporting: * Run weekly reports and maintain Intangible Exports (IE) listings for annual reporting using: * Supplier Portal * Travel Forms * Data Access Applications * Ensure accurate documentation and audit-ready records for intangible export reporting. Audits, Training & Awareness - Conduct regular trade compliance audits and assessments to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. - Develop and deliver trade compliance training to employees across the business. - Promote a strong culture of compliance and awareness throughout the organisation. Skills & Experience - Knowledge of UK Export Control, sanctions, customs, and international trade regulations. - Experience managing trade compliance programmes and operational export controls. - Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and daily operational tasks. - Strong communication skills with the ability to engage internal stakeholders and external authorities. - Experience using compliance systems (e.g. Navex) and maintaining trackers and reports.
