Principal Structural Engineer

Role: Principal Structural Engineer Location: Manchester Salary: c£70K (Depending on Experience) Responsible for solutions, design deliverables and technical standard for structural designs Job Description * Ensure design team produce design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements. * Approve design deliverables, DRAs, reports and specifications * Identify appropriate and efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team * Direct and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduates. * Guide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards. * Ensure project change for design packages is fully implemented and recorded. * Ensure work is undertaken using formal processes and procedures. * Estimate hours required for design packages * Attend and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar * Review, interpret and brief standards, procedures and changes to them * Undertake the role of Professional Head for discipline and Responsible Engineer/CRE for specific projects * Provide key technical guidance for projects and tenders and ensure continuous improvement of technical standards. Experience Required * 10 years’ structural design experience at senior or principal engineering level * Significant structural design experience within one or more of the following regulated industries: * Rail, Water, Oil and gas, Nuclear, Highways, Bridges * Graduate or HND * Good level IT * Chartered engineer
