Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer Ref. No.: CJD0612G25 Location: Based near Glasgow Salary: £40,0000 - £50,000 This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a growing, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, currently in the process of establishing themselves as a market-leading team of design experts in the Water and wider Civil Engineering sectors. They are currently on the lookout for a talented, enthusiastic Senior Civil Engineer with demonstrable knowledge of drainage and non-infrastructure design who is willing and able to lead a team through their delivery of a number of challenging projects. You will be responsible for leading a keen team of design engineers, based on the outskirts of the lively, artsy city of Glasgow. Benefits for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to): - Highly-competitive salary - Employee Pension Scheme - Generous annual leave entitlement - Flexible working opportunities - Life Insurance Scheme - Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with substantial career progression opportunities - Delivery of a wide range of engineering projects across the local region and beyond - Contributing to the developmental direction of the company Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include: Delivering on an exciting range of projects and developments Leading a team of Civil Engineering professionals, providing mentorship and guidance as they develop within the company Overseeing a variety of aspects of engineering projects, delivering them to the highest of standards within agreed timescales and budgets Leading the delivery of a number of residential, commercial, and industrial projects Building and maintaining important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders from the public and private sectors Preparing and checking technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and more Enforcing company policies and procedures, ensuring all colleagues adhere to best practice Upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times Delivering business development strategies, acting as a trusted company representative Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include: A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a similar, relevant discipline Possess Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised Professional Body, or proactively working to attain this Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK consultancy setting Demonstrable experience of working with water-based projects Experience of detailed civil engineering design, particularly drainage systems and strategies Proficient in the use of various software packages (including Revit, AutoCAD, etc.) Considerable experience of preparing technical documents Prior experience of leading projects and/or teams Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations Good organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Hold a full, valid UK driving licence Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include: - A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant discipline - Specific experience of working with non-infrastructure projects (such as reservoirs, pumping stations, etc.) - Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments - Experience of Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS) - Experience of working in a public-facing role If you are interested in the role of Senior Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
