We’re seeking a motivated Electronics Team Leader to guide a skilled team of engineers working on innovative electronic products across multiple industries. This position combines hands-on electronics design with team leadership, giving you the chance to drive projects from concept through to production. You’ll work on a mix of embedded systems, low-power devices, and complex digital and analogue designs within a collaborative and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and support a team of electronics engineers • Design and develop electronic hardware including PCBs and embedded systems • Translate customer requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions • Manage projects to meet quality, budget, and delivery goals • Ensure designs meet EMC/EMI and manufacturing requirements • Promote best practice and continuous improvement across the team • Support recruitment and professional development of engineers • Keep up to date with emerging tools and technologies Essential Skills & Experience • Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electronics hardware design • Strong background in schematic capture and PCB layout • Proven leadership or mentoring experience • Understanding of DFM/DFT, verification, and product compliance • Familiar with Agile, PRINCE2, or other project management methods • Full UK driving licence and own transport Technical Expertise (one or more areas) • Analogue and low-noise circuit design • High-speed digital, audio, or video systems • Embedded microcontroller design (bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux) • Low-power and battery-powered systems • Wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet) • FPGA or CPLD development (Verilog/VHDL) Desirable • Programming experience in C/C++ or Python • Knowledge of regulated sectors such as medical, aerospace, or robotics Personal Qualities • Clear communicator and supportive leader • Practical, proactive problem solver • Organised, adaptable, and detail-oriented • Team player who enjoys mentoring and collaboration Benefits • Opportunity to lead and grow an established engineering team • Involvement in diverse and technically challenging projects • Supportive, innovative working environment • Genuine career progression opportunities
