PROJECT ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR Electrical Contractor – Oxford Salary: £55,000–£60,000 + Benefits An established and respected electrical contractor based in Oxford is seeking a skilled Project Engineer / Estimator to join our growing team. This is a key position offering long-term stability, excellent career development, and the opportunity to take ownership of varied commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and submit competitive tenders and quotations for works ranging from small refurbishments to £1m+ * Interpret technical drawings and specifications, carrying out accurate material take-offs and procurement * Lead projects from tender through to final account, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction * Utilise IT software for estimating, project planning, and reporting (Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint) * Liaise with clients, principal contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure best-value solutions * Attend design and progress meetings; prepare RFIs, method statements, and risk assessments * Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, consultants, and end-user clients * Manage multiple projects including new builds, refurbishments, and small works packages * Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, legislation, and quality standards About You * Time-served electrician with strong technical and practical knowledge * Proven experience in estimating and project management within an electrical contracting environment * Commercially aware with experience working under various contract forms * Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities * Able to work independently and collaboratively across project teams * Valid UK Driving Licence essential * NICEIC Qualifying Manager status or C&G 2391 desirable but not essential What We Offer * Competitive salary: £55,000–£60,000 * Opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting and varied electrical projects * Supportive team environment with opportunities for progression
