School Caretaker - Northumberland Location: Various schools across Northumberland Contract Type: Supply / Long term basis Hours: Flexible (part-time or full-day shifts depending on school needs) About the Role We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join our supply pool supporting primary and secondary schools across Northumberland. This flexible role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment. Key Responsibilities Opening and closing school buildings Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of school premises Conducting routine checks (fire alarms, security systems, heating, etc.) Supporting with deliveries, room set-ups, and site safety Responding to urgent maintenance issues as needed Requirements Previous caretaking, maintenance, or facilities experience (school experience desirable) Good practical skills and the ability to work independently Flexibility to work across different school sites A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) Strong awareness of health & safety procedures Why Join Us?
