Intermediate Quantity Surveyor


Our client is a reputable and forward-thinking construction consultancy based in Southwest London / Surrey , known for delivering high-quality cost management and advisory services across a diverse portfolio of projects. With strong growth plans and a collaborative working culture, they are now seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team. Role Overview: This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Quantity Surveyor with approximately 2 years industry experience to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will gain exposure to both pre- and post-contract duties and will be supported in their development toward Chartership with the RICS. Candidates currently in a contractor environment will be considered, provided they have demonstrable pre-contract experience.  Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, cost plans and feasibility studies Support the development of tender documentation and bills of quantities Evaluate contractor proposals and conduct tender analysis Assist in contract administration and post-contract cost management Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders in a professional and proactive manner Contribute to project meetings and provide regular cost reporting Work collaboratively within the consultancy team while managing individual tasks autonomously Requirements: 2 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying within a consultancy or contractor environment Pre-contract experience is essential (especially for contractor-side candidates) Strong understanding of cost planning, estimating, and general QS processes Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline Ambition to become RICS Chartered with clear commitment to the APC pathway Excellent communication, numerical, and analytical skills Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage time effectively What's on Offer?
