Assistant Civil Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Civil Engineer with a minimum of two years' industry experience on behalf on an established Consultancy to join it's growing team. This role offers the ideal step for someone looking to develop their technical capability, gain exposure to a wide variety of infrastructure projects and work closely with experienced senior professionals who will support your progression. In this position you will assist in the design and delivery of highways, drainage, external works and general infrastructure schemes across residential, commercial and industrial developments. You will contribute to the preparation of drawings, calculations, reports and technical documents while working with design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D or PDS, as well as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage for drainage modelling. You will support the development of SuDS solutions, undertake site visits to review existing conditions and constraints, liaise with internal teams, coordinate with external stakeholders and assist in ensuring that all work complies with relevant technical standards, regulatory requirements and the Consultancy's quality management processes. Our client is looking for someone who has already gained foundational experience within a Civil Engineering design environment, demonstrates a genuine enthusiasm for developing their technical skills and communicates clearly and confidently with colleagues and clients. You should be organised, proactive, curious about engineering solutions and motivated to expand your knowledge across highways, drainage, earthworks and detailed infrastructure design. A degree in Civil Engineering and some working knowledge of design software will be essential, along with a desire to work towards Chartership in the future.
