Transport Shift Leader

Vanta Staffing High Wycombe are looking for a Transport SHift Leader to work within a busy Transport Department based in Slough. You will be required to work a 4 on, 4 off rotating shift pattern on days and nights, and have supervisory responsibility for a team of employed/agency/subcontract LGV drivers. Permanent 12 hr shifts 6.30am - 6.30pm 6.30pm - 6.30am Slough Set basic salary 38K + Variable cost of living bonus which presently sits at GBP1.5K per annum. Overtime is also available. Duties of the Transport Shift Leader: Supervisory responsibility for a team of employed/agency/subcontract LGV drivers. Ensure your team always ahere to company policy, especially Health and Safety. Ensure your teams always adhere to license compliance and transport regulations, especially driver's hours/WTD and AWD regulations. Skills of the Transport Shift Leader: Customer service Ability to lead and manage staff under your control Ability to work professionally with other departments Ability to allocate resources effectively Ability to think and delegate efficiently under pressure to cater for fluctuation in work volumes (important) Ability to identify non-conformance and complete/report investigations Cost effective fuel management and best transport operating practices Computer literate (especially with outlook and excel) Undertake reasonable ad-hoc duties when required Reportable to the Transport office department & Transport Manager Preferred but not essential: Factory clearance operation experience Temperature control distribution experience LGV C+E licence/digital tacho and Driver CPC up to date - the company can put the new candidates through a government funded apprenticeship scheme
