Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching - Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Prospero Teaching are seeking a highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our client schools team over in Portsmouth! You will be working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. This role will involve covering PPA and potentially delivering small group intervention sessions. Role details: 30 hours per week: 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday, term time only Rate of pay: minimum £14.50P/h (Discuss with consultant) We are looking for someone who: Holds a relevant HLTA qualification Has classroom experience working alongside teachers Possesses strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent) Has experience delivering small group interventions Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills Can confidently use ICT to enhance learning Communicates clearly, positively, and with confidence Is organised, proactive, and demonstrates a genuine 'can do' attitude Understands children's emotions and behaviour, and works to remove barriers to progress Shows resilience, flexibility, and resourcefulness Brings a good sense of humour The successful candidate will: Work under the guidance of the class teacher or SLT within the classroom setting Support pupils to stay focused and complete learning activities Help manage children's social and emotional needs in collaboration with the class teacher Assist with assessment and contribute to reviewing pupil progress Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding practices at all times To Apply, You'll Need The right to work in the UK An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service (or willingness to apply) Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this) References available on request What Prospero Teaching Offers Free CPD courses including safeguarding and behaviour management Access to our in-house Training & Development team for ongoing support Prospero Teaching is acting as an education recruitment agency for this vacancy.
