HGV Class 1 Driver (Temp to Perm) Location: Wednesbury Salary: £38,463 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, Days (Start times between 04:00 – 07:00) Contract: Temporary to Permanent The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client’s busy distribution operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for ongoing, long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position. You’ll be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of metal products to various customer sites across the region. The role involves using ratchet straps and chains to secure loads safely, so previous experience handling steel or metal materials is essential. Key Responsibilities * Carry out Class 1 deliveries across the region in a professional and timely manner * Ensure all loads are correctly secured using ratchet straps and other securing equipment * Complete all relevant delivery and collection paperwork accurately * Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects * Maintain a professional attitude with customers and colleagues at all times * Comply with all Health & Safety and company transport policies Requirements * Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph card * Previous experience working with metal loads (essential) * Confident using ratchet straps and other securing methods * Good understanding of driver hours and regulations * Reliable, punctual, and professional approach Benefits * Temp to perm opportunity with a reputable, well-established business * Consistent Monday to Friday work – no weekends * Early starts, early finishes * Competitive salary of £38,463 per annum once permanent * Supportive transport and operations team
