Estimator – Main Contractor (Surrey) Location: Surrey, Guilford Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Industry: Construction / Main Contracting About Us Our client is a well-established main contractor operating across Surrey and the surrounding regions, delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. With a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for reliability, collaboration, and excellence, we are now looking to expand our pre-construction team with an experienced Estimator. The Role As an Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new work and ensuring the commercial success of our projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with the pre-construction, commercial, and project delivery teams. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed cost estimates and full tender submissions * Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements * Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations * Conduct risk assessments and identify value engineering opportunities * Attend pre-tender meetings, site visits, and handovers * Work collaboratively with the wider team to support project delivery * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, materials, and pricing About You * Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment * Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and procurement * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications * Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills * Strong IT skills, including estimating software and Microsoft Office * Organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment What We Offer * Competitive salary up to £85,000 and benefits package * Opportunities for progression within a growing business * Supportive team culture and professional development * A varied workload with diverse, high-quality projects across Surrey
