Estimator Location: Gloucester Sector: General Works – Projects up to £2m Salary: Up to £60,000 + Package The Opportunity This position offers the chance to join a long-standing regional contractor delivering general works, refurbishments, interiors and small-scale new-build schemes up to £2m. As an Estimator, you’ll play a key role in pricing a diverse range of tenders, working closely with project teams to ensure accurate, competitive and profitable bids. You’ll join a trusted business with a strong local reputation, stable leadership and a collaborative approach that values strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners. Role Overview You will be responsible for: * Preparing full cost estimates for projects up to £2m. * Measuring, quantifying and analysing tender drawings and documents. * Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations. * Supporting value engineering and commercial risk assessments. * Producing tender submissions and handover documents for delivery teams. * Working closely with commercial and operational colleagues to ensure viable bids. * Maintaining strong cost control knowledge of local supply chain rates. About You * Estimating experience with a main or regional contractor. * Background working on refurbishments, fit-out, small works or general construction. * Strong measurement, analytical and numerical skills. * Able to develop competitive bids with commercial awareness. * Good communicator with the ability to liaise confidently with subcontractors and clients. * Self-motivated, organised and capable of prioritising deadlines.
