Reablement Assistant – Adult Social Care


Job Description Reablement Assistant – Adult Social Care Local Authority in Liverpool  Contract: Full-time | Initial 3–6 months with potential for extension Liverpool City Council is looking to recruit Reablement Assistants to join a 30-bed reablement unit in central Liverpool. The service supports adults to improve and maintain independence through rehabilitation, daily living skills, and person-centred enablement. You’ll work closely with families and other professionals to ensure coordinated support is delivered. Main Duties: Support service users with physical, social and emotional needs as outlined in care plans Promote independence and assist individuals with daily living skills (cooking, household tasks, personal care, laundry, self-care) Work alongside health and social care professionals to minimise risk and enable people to remain at home Follow reablement programmes using appropriate equipment and techniques Support individuals to access activities, including recreational, educational and therapeutic sessions Administer medication when required (community only) Assist service users in the onsite café (may involve long periods of standing) Maintain accurate records and report changes to Line Manager Participate in assessments, reviews, training, and supervision Hold and use keys to service users’ homes in line with security procedures Work flexibly over 7 days between 8am–10pmRequirements: Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it) Experience in adult social care settings Experience supporting individuals to develop independence Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow structured reablement programmes Strong interpersonal and listening skills Commitment to training and professional development.Benefits: Supportive team environment Ongoing training and development Opportunity to contribute directly to improved independence for adults Flexible working across reablement services Experience within a multidisciplinary adult care serviceWhy Join?
