Review Officer   Location: 1 Catford Road, Catford, London, SE6 4RU Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 7+ Months Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week Pay Rate: £19.10 Per Hour Job Ref: OR17805 Job Responsibilities Support debt recovery for the Council by contacting clients through various channels like phone, email, and letters. Ensure all actions align with laws, policies, and financial procedures. Negotiate and set up repayment plans, monitor payments, and use the Council's online payment system. Suggest improvements if any service weaknesses are found. Maintain accurate records and comply with audit requirements. Work with external partners to assist in revenue collection. Identify cases needing further enforcement and prepare debts for potential write-off. Keep updated on relevant laws, procedures, and technology. Contribute to reviewing and improving work processes. Promote equal opportunities and customer care. Participate in performance evaluations and training. Perform other related duties as required. Person Specifications Must Have Knowledge of debt recovery processes and relevant legislation. Ability to negotiate and manage repayment plans. Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and partners. Experience in maintaining accurate records and using databases. Commitment to customer care and equal opportunities. Nice to Have Experience working with local government or similar organizations. Familiarity with the Council's online payment systems and databases. Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation.
