Operations Manager - Hard FM London | £80,000-£90,000 + Package Overview A leading facilities management service provider is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take strategic and operational responsibility for a portfolio of hard FM contracts across London. You'll oversee a team of six Technical Contract Managers delivering services to multi-tenanted commercial offices, corporate workplaces, and specialist automation, data centre and financial environments. This is a key senior role focused on operational excellence, commercial performance, and technical compliance across a diverse, high-profile client base. Key Responsibilities Team & Operational Leadership * Lead, mentor and develop a team of six Technical Contract Managers, ensuring consistent performance, strong governance and a culture of accountability. * Oversee day-to-day operational delivery, ensuring services are carried out in line with SLAs, KPIs and statutory requirements. * Drive best practice across maintenance, engineering standards, PPM delivery and reactive response. Contract & Client Management * Hold responsibility for operational performance across hard FM contracts within commercial offices, workplace environments, automation facilities, data-critical sites and financial services clients. * Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner and escalation point. * Ensure seamless delivery across multi-site, multi-tenanted portfolios, adapting plans to the needs of diverse environments. Compliance, Safety & Technical Governance * Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, statutory building requirements and company policies. * Champion a robust safety culture across all contracts and teams. * Oversee technical audits, risk assessments and engineering quality assurance. Commercial & Financial Control * Manage and report on contract finances including budget control, forecasting, WIP, and margin performance. * Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and cost optimisation across the portfolio. * Support contract renewals, re-bids and variations, contributing to commercial growth. Innovation & Continuous Improvement * Implement improvements in service delivery, engineering processes and customer experience. * Leverage data, automation tools and digital reporting to enhance operational insight and performance. * Drive sustainability initiatives aligned with client and company objectives. Skills & Experience Needed * Proven experience in a senior operational/FM leadership role within hard services delivery. * Strong background managing Technical or Contract Managers within a service provider environment. * Expertise in commercial offices/workplace FM, with exposure to data-critical, automated or financial environments a strong advantage. * Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels. * Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing multi-million-pound contracts. * Demonstrable knowledge of statutory and technical compliance across electrical, mechanical and building services.
