Transmission Network Technician Purpose Support first line maintenance of sites within the Transmission network, carrying out routine tasks, meeting agreed service levels, team efficiency/quality targets, and ensuring that we maintain our service to our customers. Supports the delivery of Project related work both in and out of region. Location: North London ideally able to drive to Hatfield, AL9 6NE, within 60 minutes. (with travel to Essex, Chelmsford, Stevenage, Luton, Cambridge, Peterborough) Total Package -Up to £37,000 base salary -5% Shift Allowance -Paid On Call -Paid Overtime -Company vehicle -Pension contribution -Year 1 & 2 - minimum contribution is 3% and Arqiva contribute 6% Year 3 – contribution is 4% and Arqiva contribute 8%. Then If you elect to (or are already contributing) 5%, Arqiva will contribute 10% -Private Medical -25 days annual leave -Access to our comprehensive flexible benefits including discounts on big brands, wellness and employee assistance programmes, gymflex, buy and sell annual leave, travel and dental insurance -Training provided to support City & Guilds certifications Accountabilities * To respond to faults in a timely manner and complete corrective maintenance on a range of RF system networks to meet our Customer Service Level Agreements. * Carrying out preventative maintenance in line with Arqiva standards, policies, and procedures. * Support upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks following agreed instructions. * Maintain accurate records, documentation and reporting of actions taken. * Complete testing and measurements to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and customer requirements. * Engage with customers both internal and external and build positive working relationships. * To undertake contractor supervision duties as required, including monitoring of contractors and their safe working practices, so that relevant standards are met. * To actively participate in 24/7 365 callout response as per the scheduled rota. * Available to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team. * Willingness and ability to climb up to 60 Metres on Arqiva Structures * Complete all designated learning and development commitments associated with your role. Skills * Video Encoding and Multiplexing * Radio Encoding and Multiplexing * DTT Transmission * Digital Radio Transmission * Analogue Radio Transmission * Telemetry and Monitoring * Signal Contribution/Distribution * Power and Environmental Systems * Signal Analysis and Timing * Cabling and Tooling Knowledge & Experience * HNC or equivalent level 4 qualification OR relevant experience * Experience with processes, standards and engineering practices related to corrective and preventative maintenance. * Basic knowledge of networking principles. * Knowledge and experience of fault finding and troubleshooting and the ability to communicate your findings within a team. * Working knowledge of systems and equipment relevant to role such as RF systems, Digital Television, Analogue Radio, DAB, Microwave links, Satellite systems, Data Networks, Telecoms etc.; * Basic knowledge of RF principles. * Working knowledge of the principles of power supplies, environmental controls, telemetry systems, analogue and digital electronics. * On a needs basis working away from home will be required.
