Community Safety Officer (ASB)


Job:              Community Safety Officer (ASB) Location:      Blaenau Gwent Duration:      Contract till 31st March 2026   Hours:           37 per week   Rate:             £36,563 / hourly rate options      BRC are working closely with a well-established housing association who are looking for a Community Safety Officer who is ASB focused and wants to ensure safe, secure neighbourhoods for their tenants.   Duties: In this role, you’ll ensure the delivery of an efficient, effective and victim focused community safety service. This will include delivery of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), domestic abuse and hate related services that support tenants and helps ensure the neighbourhoods are safe, secure places to live and work.   Take and prepare civil witness statements from victims, witnesses and other agencies to advance investigations. Represent the housing association at multi agency meetings including MARAC, DACC, and safeguarding case conferences Identify and ensure appropriate support for victims and witnesses and their households including safety planning and providing target hardening measures Manage the installation of noise recording equipment and CCTV in accordance with prevailing legislative and policy requirements Collate evidence and prepare cases for legal action including applying for civil injunctions, making of claims for demotion and possession in the County Court Be the main point of contact for the Local Authority community safety team for all issues including community trigger applications, extremism/hate crime, modern day slavery etc. Instruct solicitors on behalf of the housing association where professional legal services are indicated or required in a case e.g. complex legal challenges or committal proceedings Act as super user/administrator for the ASB case management database (ReACT) and provide training on same to staff Manage the supply of security products provided to tenants About you Are you a tenant and customer focused positive person who is solutions focused and able to work on your own initiative? Requirements: You’ll be someone who thinks laterally, can negotiate and develop creative and innovative solutions.   Educated to level 4 National Qualification Framework for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland Knowledge of up-to-date legislation in relevant fields Experience of working in Housing Management or similar role of similar responsibilities Experience of multi-agency partnership working Experience of investigating and tackling ASB Experience of giving evidence in court/legal setting Experience of using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Excellent people skills, very personable and able to develop good working relationships. Able to problem solve and makes sound judgements of decision when required. Negotiates effectively showing a willingness to find a common ground.
