Head of Computer Science Full-time, permanent Start: February 2026 Somerset An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Computer Science to join a thriving secondary school in Somerset. With a dedicated and well-resourced department already delivering Computer Science at KS3, KS4 and A-Level, the successful candidate will lead curriculum development, team management and drive the further success of the subject. Why this role? * You will set the vision and strategy for Computer Science across the school, ensuring the department meets the needs of all students and raises attainment. * You will teach Computer Science (including GCSE and A-Level) and mentor colleagues to deliver high quality, engaging lessons. * You will take responsibility for curriculum planning, assessment, monitoring student progress, managing resources and promoting the subject both inside and outside the classroom. * You will join a supportive leadership team committed to providing a rich and varied education, located in a fantastic part of Somerset. What we’re looking for: * Qualified teacher status (or equivalent) with excellent subject knowledge in Computer Science. * Proven experience teaching Computer Science at KS4 and KS5 (or a strong passion to develop this). * Leadership skills to motivate, manage and develop a team of staff. * Strong communicator, able to engage students, staff and external partners. * Innovative, reflective and committed to continuous professional development and best practice. * A positive approach to technology, computing pedagogy and preparing students for a digital world.
