Procurement Category Manager

The Procurement Category Manager will oversee procurement activities within the Transport & Distribution industry, ensuring compliance and achieving value for money. This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and requires expertise in managing categories and procurement regulations. Description Develop and implement category strategies to deliver cost savings and efficiencies. Manage procurement processes in compliance with PCR2015 and PA23 regulations. Identify and mitigate risks in procurement activities across categories. Work closely with stakeholders to align procurement goals with business objectives. Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively. Ensure adherence to organisational policies and industry standards in all procurement activities. Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.Profile A successful Procurement Category Manager should have: Professional qualifications such as MCIPS or equivalent experience. Thorough knowledge of PCR2015 and PA23 regulations. Proven experience in category management within the Transport & Distribution sector. Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
