Trainee Jointer – SSE Accredited Network Location: South of England Salary: Up to £30,000 + structured training Summary: Fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a leading contractor in order to support ongoing LV/HV network projects across the South as a Trainee Jointer. This is a field-based position, with work primarily carried out across regional sites and monthly visits to the main office (or as needed to pick up tools and equipment). The role offers full training, mentoring and a clear progression route towards authorised LV/HV Jointer status — ideal for someone with a background in construction, civils or electrical work who’s ready to build a long-term career in power distribution. Key Responsibilities: * Support jointing teams with site preparation, excavation, cable handling and reinstatement. * Learn safe systems of work on LV/HV distribution networks under close supervision. * Assist in preparing materials, tools and jointing equipment for live network operations. * Maintain high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance at all times. Requirements: * Full UK Driving Licence – essential. * CSCS or SHEA Power card (or willingness to obtain). * Basic experience in utilities, electrical, or construction environments preferred. * Physically fit, safety-conscious and eager to progress * NRSWA or First Aid certification advantageous.
