Cable Harness Technician

Job Description: Salary is dependent on experience, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Harness Technician to join a growing team within a reputable engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining cable harnesses used across a range of electronic systems. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities: * Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings * Cut, strip, crimp, and solder wires to assemble cable harnesses to specification * Install connectors, lugs, and protective coverings as required * Conduct continuity and electrical tests using appropriate testing equipment * Inspect finished harnesses to ensure compliance with quality standards and rectify any issues identified * Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, materials, and test results * Provide feedback on design or process improvements where appropriate * Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the assembly process * Adhere to all company safety policies and industry regulations, ensuring PPE is used correctly and work areas remain clean and organized Required Skills and Experience: * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cable harness assembly or a similar role * Proven ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics * Skilled in soldering, crimping, and working with various connectors and tools * Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in quality inspection and testing * Familiarity with IPC620, JSTD, and COPs standards * Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity * Strong organizational and record-keeping skills * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Previous experience within automotive, aerospace, or telecommunications industries Hours: Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30 (30-minute lunch) Friday: 08:00 – 13:00 Please note: This job description is not exhaustive.
