We’re hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to join one of Europe’s fastest-growing general contractors, renowned for delivering projects in the mission-critical and life sciences sectors. With over five decades of industry experience and an annual turnover approaching €2 billion, the company is entering an exciting growth phase and is expanding its design team in the Dublin office. In this role, you will provide design support to project teams across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, as well as to in-house preconstruction teams during the planning of future developments. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Design Engineer aspiring to progress into a Senior Design Manager or Engineering Lead role in the coming years. The ideal candidate will have several years of post-graduate experience, ideally gained with a reputable main contractor or specialist MEP contractor. The company’s project pipeline is strong, with a full order book and continued high demand from its long-standing clients. Electrical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities: * Coordinate and oversee project schedules, ensuring alignment with other disciplines, package leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements. * Manage the full design process from concept through to commissioning. * Actively participate in design coordination meetings. * Take ownership of all costs related to your package, ensuring budget control and efficiency. * Attend site meetings, project reviews, engineering reviews, planning sessions, and handover meetings. * Maintain an up-to-date weekly project diary and documentation. * Liaise and coordinate effectively with subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery. Key Requirements: * A relevant qualification in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline. * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering role. * Strong teamwork, organisational, and planning abilities. * Willingness and flexibility to travel as required. * Ambitious and motivated to progress your career.
