We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Payroll Accountant at Assistant Manager level, either qualified or part-qualified, to join our client's finance team during an exciting period of change and growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, supporting the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with reporting standards. If you’re detail-oriented, analytical, and have a strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes, we’d love to hear from you. What you’ll be doing: Supporting the Finance Manager with the month-end payroll accounting close process. Reviewing and reconciling payroll balance sheet accounts, ensuring all balances are properly documented and supported, and identifying areas of risk or opportunity. Collaborating closely with the Payroll team to ensure information is received on time and accurately processed. Assisting with internal and external audits to ensure compliance. Driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and promote best practice. Preparing management reports and other financial information to support decision-making. Handling ad hoc financial and accounting tasks as required.What we’re looking for: Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or part-qualified status. Strong working knowledge of payroll accounting. Intermediate Excel skills. Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations. Understanding of project costing and internal recharges. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and reporting requirements. A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently
