Materials Buyer – Main Contractor / Developer Experience Location: Oxford Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + package Start Date: ASAP (immediate availability preferred) Our client is urgently seeking an experienced Materials Buyer to join their Oxford-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in main contracting or property development to take ownership of the procurement function within a growing and dynamic business. About the Role You’ll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials for our construction projects, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Working closely with our project and commercial teams, you’ll play a key role in maintaining efficient supply chains and supporting project delivery from start to finish. Key Responsibilities * Manage the procurement of materials for multiple live projects. * Negotiate best pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors. * Build and maintain strong supplier relationships. * Monitor stock levels, deliveries, and logistics. * Work closely with site and project teams to ensure smooth operations. About You * Proven experience as a Buyer / Materials Buyer with a main contractor or developer. * Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills. * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. * Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. * Confident communicator with both internal teams and external suppliers.
