Catering Assistant Location: Rose Hill Police HQ, 15 Cazneau Street, Liverpool, L3 3AN Contract: 3 month contract with potential extension (30 hours per week / Monday - Friday 8am - 2.30pm) Pay Rate: £12.60 PAYE per hour Start Date: ASAP About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant / Barista to join the team at Merseyside Police’s Rose Hill Headquarters. Working as part of a friendly, professional team, you’ll help deliver a high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused catering service. From preparing and serving food and beverages to maintaining excellent hygiene standards, you’ll play a key role in supporting our in-house catering operation. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain all service areas prior to and during service times, ensuring stock levels are kept replenished. Greet and serve all customers in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. Prepare and serve a range of high-quality food and beverages, including barista-style coffee. Operate electronic point of sale (EPOS) tills and click-and-collect systems for payments and orders. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and dining areas, completing daily cleaning and temperature checks. Report any faults or defective equipment promptly to management. Support the delivery of hospitality and event catering services across the site. Ensure full knowledge of menu items and allergens to assist customers effectively. Carry out any other reasonable duties related to catering provision as required. Essential skills and experience: Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. Experience in a retail or hospitality environment (ideally a restaurant or coffee shop). Good communication and customer service skills. Confident using Microsoft Office, EPOS systems, and basic IT applications. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
