You will be accountable for the delivery of an exceptional level of underwriting service whilst building relationships with brokers and colleagues. Responsibilities: - Provide support and contribution to the implementation of the wider UK & IRL Fleet Underwriting strategy. - Use own underwriting skill, experience, and judgement to personally analyse, evaluate and underwrite a range of small and medium sized new and/or renewal business. - Develop relationships with brokers that will support the delivery of our business plans and long-term strategy. - Ensure underwriting standards are always maintained. - Support team on premium collection and credit control when appropriate. - Use underwriting knowledge, experience, and judgement to act as an underwriting referral point where required for delegated authorities. - To undertake ad hoc project work on behalf of Head of Fleet. - To comply with all relevant company policies, personal underwriting authority, FCA regulations and all legal requirements. - Be accountable for own day-to-day effective performance whilst operating with a degree of autonomy and to take responsibility for longer-term personal development. Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications: - Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate (cert CII) or Diploma (DipCII) progression desirable - Educated to A-Level standard - Mathematics & English qualification essential – GCSE grade A-C equivalent - Technical fleet underwriting or broking experience (2 years+ desirable) - High level of both verbal and numerical reasoning skills. - A strong understanding of the UK Fleet Motor Market - A good understanding of the structure of commercial policy wordings - Basic understanding of contract law and insurance case law - Understanding of the impact and requirements of relevant regulatory bodies and legislation on the insurance industry - Basic understanding and awareness of claim handling, reserving and claims account management - Good analytical & evaluation skills - Judgement & decision making - Principles of Commercial Motor Insurance - Relationship building - Negotiating skills - Strong communication (written and verbal) skills. - Ability to work under pressure &/or unsupervised - Customer focus - Personal time management - Commercial awareness - Drive and energy - Teamwork - Basic software skills including MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint Why Join Us?
