Locum Breast Radiologist – Northern Ireland (Flexible Days, 3–6 Months) Location: Northern Ireland Contract Type: Locum / Part-time (2–3 days per week) Duration: 3–6 months (with potential to extend) Start Date: Approximately 1 month from now Employer: Locum Vision Pay Rate: Competitive – to be discussed at interview Mode of Work: Preference for insourcing arrangements About the Opportunity Locum Vision are seeking an experienced Breast Radiologist to support ongoing breast imaging services in Northern Ireland on a flexible locum basis. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to an established and expanding breast care service with flexibility around working days — ideal for consultants seeking to balance NHS or private work with additional locum sessions. Key Details * Commitment: 2–3 days per week (weekdays or weekends – fully flexible) * Duration: 3–6 months initially * Start Date: Within approximately 4 weeks * Setup: Preference for insourcing model (services delivered within the Trust’s site) Key Responsibilities * Interpret and report screening and symptomatic mammograms * Perform and supervise breast ultrasound and core or vacuum-assisted biopsies * Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings * Provide clinical guidance to radiographers and mammographers * Uphold high standards of patient safety, quality, and governance Key Skills and Experience Essential * Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) or General Medical Council (GMC) * Proven experience in breast imaging and interventional breast procedures * Excellent diagnostic and reporting accuracy * Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team * Flexible and reliable approach to scheduling and service delivery Desirable * Fellowship or subspecialty training in Breast Radiology * Experience with insourcing service models * Strong interpersonal and organisational skills Why Join Locum Vision * Flexible 2–3 day schedule (weekdays or weekends) * Opportunity to work within a collaborative, supportive clinical team * Competitive locum rates (to be discussed) * Travel and accommodation support available if required * Dedicated compliance and recruitment support throughout your contract Apply Now If you’re an experienced Breast Radiologist looking for flexible, high-quality work within Northern Ireland’s healthcare system, we’d love to hear from you
