Professional Standards Investigator Join our client Leicestershire Police's dynamic team as a Professional Standards Investigator! This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in maintaining integrity within public services. Based in Wigston, you will be part of a dedicated team that ensures the highest standards of professionalism are upheld. Position Details: Contract Type: Temporary Hourly Rate: £20.09 Location: Tigers Road, Leicester Weekly Hours: 37 Funded Status: Fixed Term until 31/03/2026 Weekend working and overtime: Occasionally required Responsible To: Detective Sergeant Role Overview: As a Professional Standards Investigator, you will lead or assist investigations relating to police officers and staff, dealing with complaints and intelligence that could lead to disciplinary actions or criminal outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough investigations into public complaints about police actions while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Collect and review evidence, including sensitive materials, and prepare comprehensive reports. Interview witnesses and relevant personnel in a PACE-compliant manner. Collaborate with external agencies, including the IOPC and CPS, to ensure transparent communication throughout investigations. Maintain regular updates with complainants, fostering trust and engagement.What You Bring: Essential Qualifications: - Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field. - Strong understanding of investigation legislation (PACE, CPIA, etc.) and police powers.Experience: - Recent experience in investigation roles or conflict resolution. - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
