Job title: Business Analyst Location: Fort Dunlop, Fort Parkway, Birmingham Contract length: 12 months contract Pay Rate: PAYE Work Hour: Mon-Friday Day Shift - 3 days onsite 2 days WFH Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting an Business Analyst working on behalf of a leading Asset & Technology Solutions services company. The purpose of this role is to provide expert analysis and financial insight by leveraging extensive experience as a systems accountant. The analyst will play a crucial part in upholding the highest standards of quality and governance across financial and commercial reporting processes. Acting as a key link between IT, finance and commercial teams, the role ensures that all reporting solutions—whether financial or commercial—are accurate, robust, and aligned with the organisation’s requirements. * Governance and Business Planning: Lead the development of a comprehensive business plan for the governance of reporting, setting out a clear framework to ensure quality and compliance in both financial and commercial reports. Manage and prioritise incoming requests for data reporting, coordinating with finance, IT, and commercial stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate information in line with the governance plan. * Financial & Commercial Systems Analysis: Analyse, design, and optimise systems and reporting solutions related to both financial and commercial data. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for IT teams and support the implementation of new tools or upgrades. * Report Modelling: Develop, maintain, and enhance financial, management, and commercial reports using modern modelling tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel). Ensure models are well-documented, scalable, and user-friendly. * Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with finance, IT, commercial, and business teams to gather requirements, understand reporting needs, and deliver actionable insights. Facilitate workshops and provide training where required. * Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, automate manual tasks, and improve data quality across all reporting functions. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and best practice. * Compliance and Controls: Monitor compliance with relevant accounting standards, commercial reporting requirements, and regulatory frameworks. Support audit processes and mitigate risks relating to all aspects of reporting. * User Training: Provide training and support to end-users, helping them effectively utilize Power BI, Power Query tools and reports Requirements/Skills * Previous experience as a systems accountant or similar role, working with Oracle R12 or similar ERP solutions. * Strong understanding of financial and commercial reporting, governance, and internal controls. * Demonstrable experience in report modelling and advanced proficiency with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL). * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. * Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and documentation. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly across finance, IT, and commercial functions. * Experience of project delivery within finance, commercial, or IT environments is desirable. * Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities. * Committed to continuous learning and professional development. * Team player who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
