Our client is proud to deliver essential, life-changing support to help people who live safely and independently in their own homes. Their response centre operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week — providing reassurance, emergency response and assistance whenever it’s needed most to vulnerable adults. We’re now looking for a dedicated and compassionate Responder to join their team on a temporary basis for 5 months working 15 hours per week on a shift rotational patter. This rota is set 4 weeks in advance so that the team know their shifts. You’ll play a vital frontline role, responding to calls for help from customers, assessing situations, and taking appropriate action to ensure their safety and wellbeing. As this role requires, in some cases, visiting homes after calls are answered, this roles requires a driving licence, however a vehicle is provided. What You’ll Be Doing In this rewarding and varied role, you will: * Deliver high-quality, customer-focused support 24/7 in line with the Customer Charter and TEC Services Association Quality Standards Framework. * Answer and triage calls in the Telecare Service Centre, offering advice, reassurance, and practical support. * Respond to emergency situations in customers’ homes — including falls, “no response” alerts and personal care needs. * Provide first aid, use specialist lifting equipment, and liaise with emergency services or family members when necessary. * Maintain accurate records of all calls, visits, and actions taken. * Carry out planned installations and demonstrations of telecare alarms and associated equipment. * Undertake risk assessments to ensure the safety of customers and colleagues. * Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies, and external organisations to deliver seamless care. About You We’re looking for someone who is: * Calm under pressure and able to make quick, confident decisions in emergency situations. * Compassionate, patient and genuinely committed to supporting vulnerable people. * Organised and able to manage a varied workload across a 24/7 shift pattern. * Skilled in communication and teamwork, with a professional and approachable manner. * Confident using technology and maintaining accurate electronic records. * A holder of a valid UK driving licence (essential for this role).
