Principal Air Quality Consultant Location: Remote (UK-wide) Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + benefits A market-leading environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its UK team on a fully remote basis. This senior role suits an experienced air quality specialist with strong EIA credentials who can lead major schemes, shape technical delivery, and support growth activity across a broad portfolio of nationally significant projects. The role You will take ownership of EIA air quality workstreams, steer dispersion modelling and compliance projects, and act as a key point of contact for clients and planning bodies. You will provide technical leadership to distributed teams, uphold quality standards, and contribute to proposals and business development. What's on offer £50,000-£65,000 DOE + annual bonus Fully remote anywhere in the UK, with travel to sites when needed Pension & private healthcare 25+ days annual leave plus bank holidays CPD support & clear progression to Associate Key responsibilities Lead delivery of air quality assessments and EIA chapters Manage dispersion modelling (ADMS/AERMOD) and impact assessments QA / peer-review technical outputs Contribute to bids and proposals Mentor and develop junior consultants in remote teams Represent the business with clients, developers & regulators About you 6+ years in air quality consultancy or regulation Track record producing EIA air quality chapters for planning Competent with ADMS, AERMOD & IAQM/EPUK guidance Degree in environmental science/chemistry/geography or similar Chartered (CEnv/IAQM) or working towards (advantageous) Strong communicator, organiser and team leader Full UK driving licence To apply - or to discuss other air quality vacancies - contact Abi King at Penguin Recruitment.
