Finance and Accounts Person Location: Leicestershire Salary: Depending on experience Job type: Permanent Hours: Part time Office Based ABOUT: Our Leicestershire based clients are looking for an experienced finance and accounts person with finance management experience to join their team in a part-time, permanent, office-based role. The role can be structured over 5 days or 3 full days per week. The successful candidate will have strong accounts experience using SAGE software and will be involved in day-to-day accounting tasks, they will also support the preparation of figures and documentation for the accountants. In addition to the day to day accounts they will also support the directors by taking a lead on financial planning and analysis. This includes preparing financial forecasts, managing budgets, and monitoring costs across the business related to profit margins on projects, utilities, company vehicles and other expenditure. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, positive individual who works well and collaboratively within a small team and is comfortable taking responsibility that will grow in the future and streamline responsibilities helping to reduce the Directors workload. Key Areas of Responsibility: * Use of SAGE accounting software * Purchase and sales ledger * Payroll (preparing figures) * Credit control * Supporting VAT returns * Preparation of documents and figures for accountants * Sales invoices and purchase orders * Payment of suppliers * Expenses and petty cash management * Bank reconciliation * Management of aged debtors and creditors * Monthly management reporting and profit margin analysis for projects * Cost control and expense monitoring * Budget preparation, management, and variance analysis * Financial forecasting and planning for business growth * Re-negotiating utilities and other service contracts * Supporting business decisions with financial data and insights Key Skills: * Previous experience working within an accounts or finance management role – essential * Demonstrable experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control * A high level of accuracy and attention to detail * Strong communication skills with colleagues, clients, and suppliers * Extremely organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively * Ability to follow instructions and work independently * Proficiency in SAGE Accounting software – essential * Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to support across various business functions Please note: This is an office based role and applicants will need to be Leicester based Sponsorship is not being offered for this role
