Buyer Port Talbot To £35k Are you a detail driven procurement professional looking for a new challenge? We have a great opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join our client in Port Talbot, responsible for purchasing raw materials that are vital to their manufacturing operations. The Role As a key member of the Supply Chain team you will: * Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure all purchased goods meet required standards and specifications. * Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, from raising Purchase Orders to ensuring supplier OTIF and delivery performance targets are achieved. * Lead and participate in scheduled tendering activities, evaluate offers, and award business accordingly. * Create and maintain robust supply contracts and supplier documentation. * Support the Accounts Department in resolving invoice queries. * Maintain and update the supplier database. * Expedite deliveries where needed to ensure smooth production continuity. * Uphold and promote all corporate procurement and compliance policies. The Person * Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing or materials-based environment. * Strong computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook) and hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems. * Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. * The capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities with professionalism. * A proactive, independent working style and strong attention to detail.
