Assistant Accountant – Belfast £30,000 – £32,000 | Full-time | Office Based (5 days onsite) I’m working with a fantastic business in Belfast that is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This role is perfect for a part-qualified accountant who wants to gain more exposure across management accounts, reporting, and audit, while being supported by an experienced Finance Manager. The Role: You’ll be supporting the Finance Manager across all aspects of accounting and financial control, with key responsibilities including: Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts from trial balance through to financial statements. Posting journals, maintaining the Chart of Accounts, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. Completing balance sheet reconciliations (stock, intercompany, bank accounts, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany balances). Producing variance analysis by comparing actual performance against budgets, and providing insightful commentary. Reviewing direct and indirect tax submissions (VAT returns, Corporation Tax). Delivering weekly and monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting. Assisting with year-end statutory audits, liaising with external auditors and preparing documentation. Acting as a key point of contact for finance queries, helping promote best practice across the business. About You: Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA (minimum 12 months’ experience in accounts). Solid technical accounting knowledge and strong attention to detail. Advanced Excel skills. Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across finance and non-finance teams.
