Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our already well established global Field Service team. We are looking for an additional, UK customer based, Field Service Technicians to represent IPG. You will join a small and growing EU & UK team.
To start with this role is a 6 month contract and we expect that this will soon transition to a permanent role.
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintenance and repairs on all IPG/Better Packages products within the assigned location and to assure continuity of customer operations. You will have ownership of all customer problems and/or incidents until the situation has been resolved to the customer's satisfaction and/or in compliance with agreed upon Service Agreements.
Responsibilities
This position is required to be knowledgeable with IPG products, features, functionalities, capabilities, and distribution channels and be capable of effectively communicating the IPG value to our customers
Perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, service tasks and conduct product demonstrations when required. Provide maintenance support and training to in-house maintenance staff
Establish a regular Preventive Maintenance program for existing end user accounts
Assist in testing and evaluating new products and custom packaging equipment. Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences
Follow established communication procedures - issue RMA's, prepare and submit work orders, expense reports, trip reports, etc.
Software upgrades to WAT units when required
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 GSCE's (including Maths & English A-C) or equivalent
NVQ in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (Desirable)
Broad knowledge and experience of electronic and electromechanical principals
Excellent IT skills including Microsoft suite
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to understand technical diagrams and manuals
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Proven track record of keeping good records
Ability to travel between Castle Donnington and Sutton Coldfield from home with ease.
