Senior Care Assistant

The service prides itself on providing the highest level of care to the elderly and people with dementia, so experience within this client group would be desirable. Requirements of a Senior Care Assistant:

• Experience providing personal care to individuals in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.
• The ability to help in the care of the services users' physical environment and in the general day to day activities of the home.
• Support the manager and teams through Ofsted inspections.
• Complete all necessary reporting and planning in a timely manner, in-line with regulation and requests of senior management.
• Assisting in induction of new staff.
• Ensure that appropriate medical records are maintained and when necessary appropriate support is provided.
• Helping in the promotion of mental and physical activity of individuals through talking with them, taking them out, sharing in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations.
• Complete monthly wages submissions, in the absence of the manager, ensuring staff are paid correctly and on time.
• Bring to the attention of the manager or senior team any concerns immediately.
• Support children and young people to overcome barriers to social inclusion and access to education.
• Respond to any reasonable requests from the manager or senior organisation leaders.
• Reading and writing reports, taking part in staff and service users' meetings and in training activities as required by the Registered Manager and fulfilling the criteria set by the National Care Standards Act 2000.
• Maintaining the code of confidentiality.
• Abiding by the rules governing the safety and handling of drugs.
• Becoming familiar with the Fire Safety Regulations and participating in regular fire training of two sessions per annum.
• Reporting and recording any accident which may occur.
• Assisting Commission for Social Care Inspectors during visits of inspection.
