Senior Sales Manager


Astute's Team is partnering with a leading service company to recruit a Senior Sales Manager as their business grows to help drive the growth across their expanding services.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead the commercial function, managing a small sales team and owning the end-to-end commercial forecast. You'll bring strong financial discipline, technical credibility, and the leadership skills to align delivery with business plans and growth ambitions. This role will play a pivotal role in growing the business to circa 20m turnover by targeting and winning work in key sectors in addition to their fabrication workshop, including:

  • Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Long Term Service Agreement Contracts
  • Power Generation
  • Papermills
  • Waste to Energy

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Sales Manager role
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage all commercial activity, from forecasting through to delivery
  • Produce, track, and present accurate commercial forecasts and business plans
  • Manage and support a team of 2 Sales Executives
  • Drive revenue and margin growth across core service lines
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to support strategic initiatives
  • Lead on bid, pricing and contract strategy across projects
  • Ensure commercial governance, compliance and reporting standards are met



Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Ideally qualified with a degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration / Finance
  • Professionally qualified by RICS / CIPS
  • CMI / ILM level 5 in leadership or management
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contracts
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and compliance standards in industrial or power generation sectors
  • Commercial forecasting and budgeting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP/CRM systems)


Personal skills
The Senior Sales Manager role would suit someone who has:

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial role, ideally within engineering, or industrial services
  • Strong technical understanding of complex engineering/service-based environments
  • Financially astute, with the ability to manage budgets, pricing, and margin control
  • Excellent communicator with the integrity and drive to lead from the front
  • Strategic mindset, with a hands-on approach
